XSitePro Review

Being affiliate publishers and having in the past used other products to develop websites we decided to give XSitePro a go after reading positive reviews on the net. So off we went to the XSitePro site and sent off a few questions to their pre-sales department (which is what we normally do to get a feel for the people working behind the company). The response was prompt and friendly and helpful which is always a good sign and we immediately decided to purchase the product.
Downloading the software
The software is over 60mb so be prepared if you have a slow connection. We tried downloading on our old office PC and it simply failed to download. Moving onto our more up-to-date PC and ADSL connection resulted in a quicker download without any problems. In addition to the XSitePro software was a download of Microsoft iNet which is obviously required to run XSitePro.
Read the Tutorial
This is a must - an absolute must!! This will be well worth it and save you heaps of time later on. At the very least go through the first few steps of the tutorial. I am never one for reading instructions for anything but I really recommend it for this program.
The tutorial is well set out and takes you through the development of a contact lens website and by the end of the tutorial it was a breeze for us to start a new site from scratch.
What we did like
The list of likes is quite extensive. This is a very user friendly software package (as long as you read the tutorial first) and even those without html skills can easily create a website in a couple of hours or so. With its WYSIWYG editing interface there is no need to even touch a line of html.
One of the best features of XSitePro is the SEO function. This feature includes search engine analysis of your pages where you can see at a glance what is right and what is wrong with your pages. In addition you are provided with suggested actions so you can correct the problems.
The ability to add Google Adsense ads quickly and easily is a fantastic feature as is the Affiliate Wizard function. This software is really geared towards the affiliate publisher. They seem to know exactly what we are after and they deliver all the features and functions needed to make an affiliate publishers life easier.
The ability to change the style or colors of your site is a quick and easy process with XSitePro. Change one page and the changes are followed through to every page of your site even if you have thousands of pages.
Some other worthwhile features include:
- The ability to automatically add a new page to your sitemap.
- Split long web pages into multiple web pages with just a few clicks of your mouse.
- Easily back-up your work to ensure there is no loss of data.
- Easily export your website to Frontpage or Dreamweaver if required.
These are just a few of the many, many features of XSitePro. It is really highly packed with useful tools and features too numerous to mention here.
What we didn’t like
Perhaps the only thing we didn’t like in the XSitePro software is the limited number of templates on offer. They are a bit basic and could really do with an update but they are highly customizable so anyone with a bit of flair can turn them into something special. You could easily get a nice template created through rentacoder.com if you needed anything fancy.
This really seems to be the only major drawback with XSitePro but not enough of a drawback to prevent us from purchasing and using the product. The ease with which you can customize the templates overrides this issue.
Support
As yet we have not needed support for this product but from browsing the XSitePro website they appear to provide a good combination of support including direct ticket support, a forum, videos and a knowledgebase.
In summary, we can only highly recommend this product. As we use this product we will add more to this review but even in our initial use of the product we are extremely happy with the results.
