You’re most likely on the right track since you are not making the money your primary focus…you really can’t help but provide value when you think in this way.

That’s right Mitch – it’s all relative really since what one person thinks is valuable another will think quite differently.

I think most of us believe we’re giving value, but I’ll say that trying to figure out what your audience wants is a difficult process. For instance, I write a finance blog, and my thought was to cover news things that have something to do with a financial topic, and give an opinion on it. Now, to me that’s value, but maybe to someone else they’d like me to try to give them an answer on how to overcome the issue. I would never want to put myself in Jim Cramer’s position so I won’t go that route, but that could be a sticking point with some visitors, and if it is, well, that’s on me because I never want anyone coming to me for that kind of financial advice with their money on the line.

So, that question of value still remains scary and elusive. But it’s a very good points.

Am I providing value? hmmm…that is a very good question. My blog is really just a journal of thoughts and revelations I happen upon. It’s not really meant to be a guide or a how to blog. Although I would like to make some money with it, that is not my primary focus. So if my readers like to read my rambling thoughts then I would have to say yes I am providing some sort of value. I hope….

I guess we are never going to please everyone no matter how hard we try. But we can do our best to provide as much value as possible…(and I don’t think you have a problem with providing value).

Am I providing value? I like to thinks so. My blog being a general blog covering a variety of topic makes it a little difficult sometimes. It’s almost impossible to guarantee that every blog provides something of value to every reader.

Hopefully my style of writing, in that I try to entertain as well as being informative, and believe me I don’t think it always works , helps to fill in the gaps.

Exactly Brad – I believe the more you give the more you get in life.

And I’m glad you are liking the blog. I’m trying to write content that reveals a bit about what we went through to get where we are today. I personally used to like reading success stories but also the disasters along the way as it made me feel a bit better about where I was at the time.
